Crooked Roads And Redirection

Are we walking in our paths of life in a good direction? When do we know that the direction that we are moving on is right or wrong? Many a times we don’t have the answers and rarely do we have it.

When we face storms in our life, when our paths seem to halt, when we don’t have energy to move on further, when we don’t perceive the steps to move forward, when the direction which we came from seem to make sense that it was wrong all these while, when we come to a point in life when we have no other alternative than to sit and ponder on what to do next, only then we realize the need of an appropriate direction, a good direction which will propel us forward than moving back.

The roads which we have traversed so far seems to have been crooked. Such was the crookedness that it had pulled the life out of us and had set us spiraling into unnecessary directions which further made us encounter horrendous situations.

What went wrong? The inability to judge whether we were walking in the right path? Or the lack of perception on things which were going on that time? Was our understanding stunted? Was our insight diminished?

Whatever the reasoning maybe, the most common fact is that we rely on our own minds to take the direction. We depend on our brains to take full ownership of the paths we choose and that is where we go wrong. Making plans and taking directions without involving God into it will prove to be futile. We think we are self sufficient to take our own directions only realizing it later that it was our self folly.

Yes, I do agree that God has given us good brains to take a decision, to double check on our plans, to gain insight in what we are going to do; but acknowledging God in wanting to go in that direction is very important. Proverbs 3:5,6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding, In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths”. What a wonderful word! Committing our plans to him and waiting for that answer to move forward in that plan is significant. If God is in it, there will be inner peace and no prejudice. He will flourish your plans if it is pleasing in his eyes and if it is his will.

Even if we had worked in our self folly which had now ended up in bad results, Don’t worry, you can be rest assured that God will always Re-direct your paths. Have you seen how a Google map redirects you when you have swerved in the wrong way? If a Google map can do that, Could not the Almighty God do? He says in Isaiah 45:2, “I will go before you and make the crooked places straight”. Yeah, Amen! When you ask God to redirect your life according to his plans, he will always pull up the crookedness and make it straight.

When you are doubtful or in need of direction or when you have lost your direction, Pray to the LORD from the promise given in Isaiah 30:21 which says, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the way, walk in it! Yes, He will guide you and lead you! Through his word, through the promptings of the Holy spirit, through wise guidance of counselors. There is definitely a hope for you! He will never leave you nor forsake you! He will show you his way! The Right Way! Amen! God Bless You!
